This store, in addition to promoting what in my mind is beautiful and unique art, is established to be a part of a holistic, socially-invested movement. Because I travel the globe a lot, I’m fortunate to find beautiful and rare cottage industry goods/art and photo ops. This store makes the global village accessible to all.
WHY I’M DOING THIS:
I want to give back to a cause that means everything to me: Global Outreach Alliance (GOA). GOA’s mission is to empower communities by promoting self-reliance through education, mentoring and sustainable development solutions. As an organization, GOA cannot promote self-reliance unless we ourselves (the board) are self-reliant. In order to protect GOA’s unique model of giving (100% of donations goes towards its program services, not towards overhead, administrative salaries or to sustaining an entity here in the States), we (the board) need to make sure we have enough for ourselves and for our families. Therefore, this “store” (and all of my personal for-profit, professional endeavors) are designed to benefit those GOA serves, all while winning some bread.
